An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
